LOCiMOBILE GPS Tracking apps ride the Android wave of popularity.
Google’s operating system for cellphones has overtaken Nokia’s Symbian system as the market leader. In the three months through December, manufacturers shipped 33.3 million cellphones running Android, Google’s free, open-source cellphone operating system, up from just 4.7 million a year earlier, according to Canalys, a research firm in Reading, England.
Analysts said the figures represented a tectonic shift in the industry, cementing the influence of Google’s advertising-driven business on the mobile Internet. And this year, according to the research firm Gartner, more people will gain access to the Internet through mobile devices than with personal computers.
Three popular GPS tracking apps from LOCiMOBILE are available from the Android Marketplace that have downloaded

Dear GTX Corp,
On May 22nd, 2010, a balloon containing probes and an HD video camera constructed by 12 students at The Bay School of San Francisco was launched from Carmel State River Beach, and traveled over 75,000 feet into the air before bursting and returning to earth some 80 minutes later. The balloon and its attached equipment traveled close to 80 miles east, landing on the edge of the central valley.
In order to observe the movements vertically and horizontally of the balloon, including locating its landing spot so that recovery could be achieved, the team of students used three separate methods to track the travel of the near space balloon. One of these methods was the use of a LOCi tracker. This device, only a couple inches in length, is a new design from GTX Corp (GTXO) using a multi-step process to track whatever it is attached to in real time. The first operation is to figure out its location by triangulation from satellites, using standard GPS technology. It then broadcasts its location in cellular wave format, using standard cell towers to get the information back to GTX's servers, where the location is stored for the end user to see via GTX's website.
Traveling up to 75,000 feet in the air, and surviving under the extreme conditions that prevail there is an extreme challenge for any electronic device, but the LOCi tracker preformed admirably, recording its location and sending out its location whenever it was possible to establish a connection to a cell tower. When the balloon had traveled to a certain height, it was impossible to reach down to the cell towers which were not designed for this purpose, so there is a temporary blank spot on the map when this occurred, however, after the balloon ascended to within range of a cell tower, it immediately began re-broadcasting.
The LOCi tracker worked remarkably well in finding its location and sending it back out so that from anywhere in the world, we could view its location via internet. The genius of the design is in the simplicity. There is very few ways for this to go wrong, and we did not experience any of it. Without accurate tracking on the balloon, we not only would not have known its height and travel pattern, but we also never would have found where it landed, which was necessary to recover the recorded video. The LOCi tracker never failed in this regard.
Here is a webpage including information about, and a video of, the flight of the near space balloon: http://ikaros.xrg.us/.

One mobile connection for every person in the world by 2015 and every connection is 2-way.
Cisco predicts that by 2015 there will be 5.6 billion mobile devices and 1.5 billion separate machine-to-machine nodes. Coincidentally, global mobile data traffic will grow 26 times between 2010 and 2015, to 6.3 exabytes–a billion gigabytes–per month, according to the latest report from Cisco’s Visual Networking Index Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast. Additionally, fully two-thirds of all mobile data traffic will be video by 2015, the report predicted.
There are now more than 60,000 native apps for the iPad tablet. Apple adds that consumers downloaded 7 billion apps in the last year alone – LOCiMOBILE”S 2 way GPS TRACKING APPS among them – and one can only wonder what that number might become with video as an option. Check-in at GTXCorp for an answer to the “where is…” it’s happening question.

Quantitative proof of the frequency of the “where” question being asked
Among all smartphone users, the most popular app among feature phone users is Google Maps (46%) followed closely by Facebook (45%). The simplest conclusion to be drawn from the data is that “where” is my; friend, family, spouse or co-worker must be top of mind for multi-millions and the GPS Tracking app to resolve that question is to be found at LOCiMOBILE, a subsidiary of GTXCorp (GTXO.OB).
Where they are asking the “where” question is now going vehicular…
The number of consumers using telematics smartphone apps with connected cars is about to increase over 40 times in the next five years. ABI Research today estimates that by 2016, 129 million people will use smartphone software that works with a vehicle, up from only 3.2 million consumers this year. Such forecasts could fuel new and innovative mobile apps specific to vehicles and travel-related activities.
Smartphone applications specific to cars may best illustrate the promise of mobility and connectivity: intelligent, discreet devices combined with wireless broadband and smarter cars. While there have been a number of in-vehicle applications for years — think of navigation, point-of-interest searches, real-time traffic data and remote automobile diagnostics — most until now have been constrained for use within the vehicle.
By leveraging the ability for a smartphone to be tied with a car, such apps can move beyond in-car use. And as vehicles gain more processors and sensors, especially in greener cars as noted in a GigaOM Pro report, (subscription required), the possibilities for mobile apps will expand.
So what kinds of mobile apps will connect smartphone-toting drivers with their cars? Ford already launched software specific to its all-electric Ford Focus, allowing users to remotely monitor the battery level and even schedule a recharge during off-peak rate hours. Location Labs, in a partnership with T-Mobile, today launched software that can detect when a driver is behind the wheel of a vehicle and automatically shoot calls direct to voicemail or lock down access to text messaging. Focused on driver safety, the new app appears to monitor vehicle movement through GPS, but in the future, could get that data directly from the car. Whatever the application, mobile broadband and smart handsets combined with the cars of tomorrow could give new meaning to the term “information superhighway.”

The Where Question
Tuesday, January 18, 2011
We cannot leave home without our smartphone
According to a survey from Deloitte, Revolutions 2010, smartphone apps are indeed transforming consumer behavior. More consumers are turning to their smartphone for entertainment, news and information than previous traditional sources.
From the survey, 62 percent of respondents said the availability or presence of mobile apps causes them to carry their smartphones when they otherwise would not. That means as consumers, we cannot leave home without our smartphone.
Testament to the survey’s view of changing consumer behavior patterns can be seen as Apple nears 10 billion app downloads. It only took Apple took nine months to reach 1 billion downloaded wireless applications, and less than two years later, the company is getting ready to issue a $10,000 iTunes gift card to the person who downloads app number 10 billion. At the current pace, this milestone will be reached Jan. 23. Research firm Asymco says that across all three of the iOS-supported devices, users have downloaded an average of 60 apps each.
GTX Corp (GTXO) has been aware of this trend for years developing a portfolio of GPS Tracking and GPS based LOCiMOBILE applications that eschew the public commercialism of Four Square and Gowalla for a robust, private set of functional apps that provide easy to access permission based location information.

SAMSUNG AND GTX CORP SIGN DEFINITIVE AGREEMENT TO DELIVER GPS TRACKING APPS TO 40 MILLION NEW PHONES
Samsung Users Join Growing Community of Location-Based Social
Networking and Share "Where" Anywhere with GPS Tracking Apps
Los Angeles, CA, August 17, 2010—As it crosses 600,000 downloads in 84 countries, LOCiMOBILE®, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of GTX Corp (OTCBB: GTXO), has inked a deal with Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd., the world's second-largest handset manufacturer in 2009 with sales of more than 235 million units (source, Gartner February 2010) to deliver its family of GPS Tracking Apps to Samsung’s new line of smartphones and bada platform.
Samsung, a leading mobile phone provider, launched its own open mobile platform, Samsung bada, in December 2009. This new addition to Samsung's mobile ecosystem enables developers to create applications for millions of new Samsung mobile phones, and offers consumers a fun and diverse mobile experience. Samsung chose the name “bada”—which means “ocean” in Korean—to convey the limitless variety of potential applications that can be created using their new platform.
In the agreement, GTX Corp will develop versions of its tremendously popular GPS Tracking apps specifically for mobile phones that will run Samsung's new bada operating system. GTX expects its GPS Tracking apps to be featured for sale on the Samsung Application Store beginning in October 2010. Of the 40 million estimated Samsung handsets expected to ship between now and mid-2011, 15-20 million will be the new “
“The Samsung bada platform further advances our march towards universal availability for our people-finder apps," says GTX Corp CEO Patrick Bertagna. “We're delighted to have been asked by Samsung to participate in this new market and add the bada platform to our current list along with Apple, Android and RIM. We anticipate bada to be huge out of the gate and a tremendous boost to our business in the
GTX Corp’s announcement follows on the heels of an 89% increase in its revenues over the previous quarter and a number of recent software and hardware deals, including the launch of its new consumer based social networking portal www.gpstrackingapps.com. The company also formally launched its GPS Tracking app for the iPad several weeks ago and has already updated that app to version 1.1, and is launching a new GPS camera app this coming month, which will continue to add value to the growing suite of LOCiMOBILE GPS apps.
On the hardware side, developments include embedding miniaturized GPS tracking devices in the Aetrex Ambulator® GPS shoe, which just debuted to the trade at the WSA Show in Las Vegas, and for packages with international shipper MNX.
“We aim to continually drive developments that increase the value and strength of our Company, concludes Bertagna. The Samsung agreement vastly increases our visibility in the US and abroad, and further validates our GPS Tracking model of letting consumer and business users get the answer to ‘Where is my friend, co–worker, family member or high-value asset?’ with one push of a button.”
ABI Research predicts that more than 550 million GPS-enabled handsets will be shipped by 2012. LOCiMOBILE®, with 10 GPS apps on the market and 3 more in development across 4 major platforms, continues to gain traction and momentum in what is estimated to be a $29 billion dollar market by end of 2013.

HALF A MILLION DOWNLOADS and GROWING
GPS TRACKING APPS LEADER LOCiMOBILE® LAUNCHES NEW APP and COMMUNITY PORTAL FOR EXPANDING MARKET
New Apps and Website Offer Real-Time GPS Tracking for Android® and BlackBerry® Users
Share “Where” Anywhere with Live GPS Tracking
Los Angeles, CA, July 7, 2010-- On the heels of passing 500,000 downloads, GTX Corp (OTCBB: GTXO.OB) unit LOCiMOBILE, Inc. is poised to launch a new series of GPS Tracking “apps” and web-based location services that solidify the company’s leadership position in the location-based social networking market. Starting July 15th, users can download the full-featured BlackBerry® version of LOCiMOBILE’s new “Tracking” app, and subscribe to a web-based service that enables Android® and GPS-enabled BlackBerry users to be tracked from any laptop or desktop computer. The new GPS tracking apps and community portal website offer cross-platform, real-time live tracking of friends and family, kids and co-workers.
For the past two weeks, Android users have been able to download a free, limited version of the “Tracking” app from the Android marketplace. Unlike its fellow apps GPS Tracking and iLOCi2, which do not work in the background and require permission with each and every locate request, “Tracking” is live, continuous, real-time tracking, running in the background after the tracked user grants permission one time.
With the growing popularity of the new Android-OS phones, close to 115 models and global handset makers like Samsung Electronics entering the app space with their recent launch of bada, the LOCiMOBILE platform is well-positioned to increase its market share by providing cross-platform apps along with a web based portal to this burgeoning user community. Share “where” anywhere with one push or click: LOCiMOBILE GPS Tracking Apps.
Tracking runs in the background on both smartphones and can report its location at user-selected intervals (every minute, five minutes, sixty minutes, and so on). Tracking is perfect to obtain the whereabouts of anyone a user cares for or trusts and wants to know where they are at all times. Tracking is opt-in and only possible if added users provide their consent, and user privacy is assured. The Tracking service costs $2.99 per month or $29.99 for a full year.
“Tracking represents a significant shift from LOCiMOBILE’s existing phone-to-phone technologies and offers both new opportunities for users and expanded subscription and advertising revenues for the Company,” explains GTX Corp. CEO Patrick Bertagna. “With downloads having crossed the half a million mark, and all the new app-ready GPS smartphones entering the market, the timing was right to launch our cross-mobile platform to this growing market.”
“Our two-way GPS Tracking technology as seen on CBS News is already being used in shoes to monitor the elderly afflicted with dementia and in iPhone and iPad apps.” Bertagna concludes. “Real-time, continuous tracking operating in the background is a logical progression to help the Company maintain its competitive edge.”
ABI Research predicts that more than 550 million GPS-enabled handsets will be shipped by 2012. LOCiMOBILE®, with eight apps, downloaded in over 84 countries, continues to gain traction and momentum in what is estimated to be a $29 billion dollar market by end of 2013.
